Bhatmas Sadeko (Soybean Salsa)!!

Bhatmas Sadeko (Soybean Salsa) is a traditional Nepali dish, mainly popular in Newari community. It is a must have dish for numerous festivals, Newari community has. It is served as an appetizer course with flatten rice, fish, ginger and garlic. Altogether this dish is called "Samay Baji." In this blog, I will be showing you how to make Bhatmas Sadeko (Soybean Salsa). Also, Click here for the recipe of Gundruk/Shinki Bhatmas Sadeko. Different people have different techniques to prepare this dish and below is the way I like:

Things you will need:
  • 2 cups Soybean
  • 5-6 table spoon of oil
  • Garlic (5 cloves, thinly sliced)
  • Ginger (Thinly sliced)
  • 2 tea spoon red chili powder
  • 1 table spoon lime juice
  • Half Tomato (Finely chopped)
  • Ginger-Garlic Paste: 1 Tablespoon
  • Timur ko dhulo (Szechuan pepper powder) half table spoon
  • 1 Serrano Pepper (thinly sliced) 
  • Salt (according to taste)
  • 1/4 red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 strand of green onion (finely chopped)
Direction: 
  1. Heat a pan and fry soybean in the oil on a medium heat.
  2. Put fried soybean, tomato, Serrano, chopped green and red onion, ginger-garlic chopped and paste in a bowl to make the mixture.
  3. Add spices (salt, timur, red chili powder, lime juice) and give everything a good mix.
  4. Done!! Enjoy :D
